1. (a) Satnam Singh Sandhu

President Draupadi Murmu has nominated Satnam Singh Sandhu for the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Parliament. Satnam Singh Sandhu founded Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC) in Mohali in 2001. In the year 2012, he established Chandigarh University.

2. (a) Maharashtra

NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) has entered into an agreement with the Government of Maharashtra for the development of green hydrogen and derivatives (green ammonia, green methanol) up to 1 million tonne per annum capacity. This agreement has been made for the next five years and investment of approximately ₹ 80,000 crore will be made.   

3. (b) Dibrugarh

AYUSH Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma laid the foundation of the first Yoga and Naturopathy hospital in the Northeast. The foundation of this 100-bed hospital was laid in Dibrugarh, Assam. This hospital is being built on approximately 15 acres of land with an investment of approximately Rs 100 crore.

4. (c) Netherlands

Netherlands women’s hockey team has won the FIH Hockey 5S Women’s World Cup title. Netherlands won this title by defeating India in the final played in Muscat. Netherlands defeated the Indian team by a huge margin of 7-2. Jyoti Chhatri and Rutaja Dadaso scored goals for India but it was not enough to win.    

5. (a) Divyansh Singh Panwar

India’s Divyansh Singh Panwar won the gold medal in the men’s 10m air rifle shooting event at the ISSF World Cup 2024 in Cairo. Olympian Divyansh Singh Panwar topped the qualification round with a score of 632.4. Indian shooter Sonam Uttam Maskar won the silver medal in the women’s category.

6. (b) 12th fail

The film ’12th Fail’ directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra won the award for Best Film (Popular). This film is based on the life of IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma. The Best Director award went to Vidhu Vinod Chopra (12th Fail). The Filmfare Award for Best Actor was given to Ranbir Kapoor for the film Animal.

7. (d) Sanjeev Joshi

National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Chief of Defense Staff General Anil Chauhan launched the book ‘Ek Samandar, Mere Andar’ written by Sanjeev Joshi, Deputy CEO of BrahMos Aerospace. This book is a collection of 75 poems written by Joshi over the last several years.
